Future Plans
  • Pomme de Terre Overlook
This structure will overlook the Pomme de Terre River Valley allowing people to relax and enjoy the view.  It will provide a visible connection to the traffic on Highway 59 and can be used for events or picnics.
  • Sensory Garden - This Garden will be a fully accessible outdoor space to soothe and strengthen mind, body and spirit using plants that stimulate the senses. It will also offer ideas for garden design, container planting, and plant materials.

  • Trail Project - This trail project will expand the success of the Gardens by developing a new trail to improve accessibility for all citizens and provide additional parking.  The project's concept organizes the Horticulture Garden along a curved trail representing the Pomme de Terre River that runs through the WCROC.  This trail will originate at a bluff overlook and wind through various themed Gardens creating outdoor classrooms where people can learn about flowers, plants, and the prairie; or just sit and enjoy the beauty of the garden.  The trail will link the Gardens to the current Pomme de Terre City Park's walking and biking trails allowing the existing park trail system to form a complete loop around the popular Pomme de Terre park and playground.  When completed, the new trail will provide access through a prairie area, overlook the Pomme de Terre River, and take community members, hikers, campers, cyclists and tourists through the Gardens.

  • Water Resources Education Garden (plans TBA)
