Welcome to the University of Minnesota’s West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC)! The WCROC is part of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences and is one of nine such Centers located around the state of Minnesota. Our applied research programs cover crop production, dairy production, horticulture, water quality, renewable energy, and swine production.
Our land and facilities provide research opportunities for colleagues at the University of Minnesota, other universities, industry scientists and students.
We provide education and outreach opportunities for farmers, industry professionals, and rural citizens of Minnesota.
In 2010, we celebrated 100 years of delivering excellent research and education to farmers and other citizens of Minnesota and beyond. Our strategic plan, developed in 2013, serves as a guide as we embark on the next 100 years of service to Minnesota.
We are located in Morris, Minnesota, on the edge of the prairie. Our location gives us the unique opportunity to manage organic farmland, harness the power of the wind, and conduct studies under regional conditions. We're also home to the U of MN Regional Extension office, which works with area communities.
