The University of Minnesota's West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC) is located in Morris, Minnesota. The WCROC is part of the University of Minnesota College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences, and celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2010 -- providing a tradition of excellence in applied agricultural research and education for farmers and rural communities in crop production, animal sciences, horticulture, water quality, organic dairy, and renewable energy.
WCROC provides research-based innovation, and outreach by vigorously pursuing opportunities for agricultural producers and rural citizens while identifying and responding to emerging trends, developing dynamic solutions, and offering active learning experiences.
The West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC) in Morris was named Outstanding Conservationist for 2011 by the Stevens County Soil and Water Conservation District. This recognition was based on the ROC's research and educational programs in horticulture, water quality, renewable energy, dairy, swine, and crop production. The WCROC received the award at the annual convention of the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts. Read more about it in the Fall 2011 issue of SWCD Conservation News.
