Growing Perennial Vegetables
Perennial vegetables like asparagus and garlic provide delicious, high value rewards with less maintenance during the peak vegetable gardening season. We'll talk about how to plant, manage, and harvest these unique crops. Topics covered will include choosing varieties, when, where, and how to plant, how to harvest for the best results, and how to maintain the plants through the year.
Presented by Annie Klodd, a statewide UMN Extension Educator for fruit and vegetable production. She delivers research-based education on best practices for growing fruit and vegetable crops in Minnesota. She manages the new UMN Fruit and Vegetable Newsletter and co-hosts the UMN fruit and vegetable podcast called "What's Killing My Kale?"
This workshop is part of the Come Grow with Us horticulture education series. Classes are free to attend, and open to the public.
