The Scoop on Soil

(Come Grow with Us series)
February 19, 2020
12:00pm to 1:00pm

Do you ever feel a bit overwhelmed when trying to decide which bag of soil media to purchase for your spring plantings? No worries! We’ll discuss what a high quality growing media consists of, the science behind it, and how to tell the difference between high and low quality products at the store. Tips will be provided as to how to keep container plants healthy and productive throughout the whole growing season through fertilizing, watering and disease control.

Presented by Nate Dalman, a horticulture researcher at the West Central Research and Outreach Center. A U of MN Morris graduate, Nate manages the WCROC greenhouses and oversees the growing of nearly 400 annuals for the Horticulture Display Garden.

This workshop is part of the Come Grow with Us horticulture education series.  Classes are free to attend, and open to the public.
