Soil Health: Starting from the Ground Up

(Come Grow with Us series)
February 21, 2018
12:15pm to 1:00pm

Healthy soils are one of the most critical components of garden success each year.  Understanding your soils and how to manage them is an important part of getting the most productivity from your gardens.

Join us to learn how gardening activities, such as adding organic matter, planting diversity and rotations, and tilling, affect your soil and the invisible life belowground.  No matter how large or small your garden aspirations, this discussion will give you the keys to having healthy soil and healthy plants.

Presented by Dr. Joe Storlien, who received his Ph.D. in Soil Science from Texas A&M University and has been a Professor of Environmental Studies at St. John’s University since 2014. He also serves as a U of MN Extension Master Gardener for Stearns County.

This workshop is part of the Come Grow with Us horticulture education series.  Classes are free to attend, and open to the public.
