Heins receives Outstanding Faculty Award
Brad Heins, Associate Dairy Professor, received the Outstanding Graduate Faculty/Staff Award from the University of Minnesota Department of Animal Science on May 11, 2017. The award recognizes his outstanding leadership, mentorship, and advising in addition to an extraordinary attitude of kindness and generosity toward graduate students within the department. Brad was selected for the award by the U of MN Animal Sciences Graduate Club.
Brad currently advises five graduate students, and has four undergraduate interns assisting him with various research projects. His research foci includes organic dairy management, crossbreeding and genetics, precision technology, pasture and forages, and herd health.
