Jordan awarded ROC Outreach Initiative Award
The University of Minnesota College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) has 10 unique Research and Outreach Centers (ROC) in communities throughout Minnesota. The West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC), Morris, is part of this system, and focuses on applied agricultural research and education. Each year, the ROCs recognize exceptional employees who contribute to innovative ideas that strengthen our research, outreach and operations programs. We are pleased to announce that Ms. Esther Jordan of the WCROC, was selected as the recipient of the ROC Outreach Initiative Award for 2017.
Esther has served as Communications Specialist at the WCROC since 2012 with the horticulture program and since 2014 with other WCROC programs. She is our marketing strategist and helps us connect our research to end-users by “telling our story” to interested audiences. Her creative thinking in developing successful and professional outreach events, newsletters, signage, flyers, posters, media articles, TV interviews, and displays have significantly improved WCROC outreach efforts. Esther has made exceptional contributions to raise the profile and reputation of the WCROC. She was given the award by Steve Poppe, WCROC Horticulture Scientist, and Lee Johnston, WCROC Director of Operations, on March 26, 2018.
