Horticulture Garden Pavilion
The Garden is expanding! Plans are in the works to construct a Garden Pavilion in the Horticulture Display Garden. As part of the Horticulture Master Plan, a Garden Pavilion will enhance awareness and inspiration throughout educational and community events while admiring the beauty of the Garden. The new facility will be located on the west end of the Garden, adjacent to the Pomme de Terre Overlook.
While the Pavilion will primarily be used for educational events, it will also be available for private gatherings, community picnics, weddings, cultural performances, and serve as venue for arts and music performances.
With thoughtful planning and design, members of the Horticulture Advisory Committee, along with regional stakeholders, commissioned architects to develop a predesign concept drawing for the Pavilion.
The Pavilion will offer:
- a large gathering space (accommodating up to 230 people in lecture-style seating)
- classroom/lab area with counter space for demonstrations and displays
- indoor and outdoor seating areas
- restrooms, accessible both from the interior and exterior
- outdoor pergola
In order to make the Pavilion a reality, we need your financial support! Consider a gift to the Garden Pavilion; gifts in the amount of $250 or more will be named as contributors on or near the Pavilion. All gifts are tax-deductible. To make a gift: online with the U of MN Foundation, or by check (make checks out to U of MN WCROC, stating "Pavilion" on the memo line. Mail checks to 46352 State Hwy 329, Morris, MN 56267). Your gift, no matter the amount, is much appreciated.
The proposed Pavilion is approximately 4,000 square feet. A full copy of the predesign report is available for viewing (PDF).
